Getting started

Wallets, addresses, and what to have ready before you use ZecBit.

What wallet do I need to use ZecBit?

Use the latest version of Noir Wallet. For most ZecBit activity, you will be using your shielded u1 address.

Where can I find my u1 address?

Open Noir Wallet and copy your shielded receiving address starting with u1.

Can I use a transparent Zcash address?

Some Zcash wallets support transparent addresses, but ZecBit is built around shielded Zcash activity. Use the wallet and address requested by the specific ZecBit flow.

Should I update Noir Wallet?

Yes. We recommend using the latest version because wallet and RPC improvements can significantly improve transaction and marketplace reliability.

Do I need to save my seed phrase before reinstalling Noir?

Yes. Always securely back up your recovery phrase or private key before removing or reinstalling a wallet.

ZecBit support will never ask for your recovery phrase or private key. Anyone who does is not us.

Will ZecBit ever ask for my seed phrase or private key?

Never. ZecBit support will never need your seed phrase or private key. Do not send them to anyone, including anyone claiming to be us.

Transactions and wallet

Transaction ids, confirmations, balances, fees, and why things take time.

What is a txid?

A txid is the unique transaction ID for your Zcash transaction. It can be used to identify and verify a specific transaction.

Where can I find my txid?

Open the transaction inside your wallet and copy the transaction hash, or txid, from the transaction details.

Why is my transaction still pending?

Zcash transactions require block confirmations. Network congestion, RPC performance or wallet syncing can make confirmations take longer than usual.

What are confirmations?

Confirmations are new Zcash blocks added after your transaction was included. More confirmations mean the transaction is further settled onchain.

Why does my wallet balance look wrong?

Your wallet may still be syncing. Make sure you are on the latest Noir Wallet version and allow it time to synchronize with the network.

What is an RPC and why does it matter?

RPC infrastructure connects your wallet to the Zcash network. If an RPC is slow or overloaded, balances, transactions and confirmations may update more slowly.

Why does a Zcash transaction cost a small network fee?

Sending ZEC and interacting with onchain assets requires a network transaction. Small network fees may apply independently of any mint or marketplace price.

Minting

Minting a collection, mint prices, and what happens after the mint.

How do I mint a collection on ZecBit?

Connect the supported wallet, choose the amount you want to mint and follow the payment flow shown on the collection launch page.

Can a collection set its own mint price?

Yes. Collections launching through ZecBit can define their own mint terms and mint price.

Why can minting require ZEC beyond the mint price?

The collection price and the Zcash network fee are separate. Even a free mint can still require a small amount of ZEC for the onchain transaction.

Can I trade a collection after mint?

Collections launching through ZecBit are designed to have marketplace infrastructure available alongside the launch, so secondary trading can begin once the assets and transactions are confirmed.

Marketplace

Buying, listing, offers, reservations, and transferring items.

How do I buy an NFT on the ZecBit marketplace?

Connect Noir Wallet, choose an available listing, follow the purchase flow and wait for the required Zcash confirmations.

How do I list an NFT for sale?

Connect the wallet that holds the NFT, open the item page, choose the listing option and follow the marketplace flow.

What does "Reserved" mean?

Reserved means there is an active purchase flow associated with that NFT. Reservations help prevent multiple users from successfully completing the same purchase.

How do offers work?

Offers are backed by ZEC. After the wallet broadcasts the transaction, the offer moves through the pending and confirmation process before becoming active.

Can I cancel an offer?

Yes. When an offer is cancelled, the reserved funds are returned according to the marketplace flow, minus any applicable Zcash network fee.

Why can an NFT take time to become transferable or listable?

The transaction may still need confirmations, or your wallet may still be syncing. Once the onchain state is confirmed, the NFT should become usable normally.

ZecBit Points

How holding and trading earn Points, the multipliers, and the limits.

What are ZecBit Points?

ZecBit Points are designed to reward long-term holding and real marketplace activity across the ZecBit ecosystem.

How can I earn Points?

There are two core paths: holding eligible NFTs over time, and generating eligible trading volume on the ZecBit marketplace.

How do HOLD Points work?

Each eligible NFT generates 1 base Point per day, multiplied by its holding-age multiplier and adjusted by portfolio weighting when a wallet holds many NFTs.

What are the holding-age multipliers?

1 to 30 days is x1. 31 to 90 days is x1.25. 91 to 180 days is x1.5. 181 to 365 days is x2. 366 days and over is x3.

Does each NFT have its own holding age?

Yes. Holding age is tracked per NFT, so older NFTs keep their own multiplier when you acquire additional NFTs later.

What happens if I sell or transfer an NFT?

The holding multiplier for that NFT resets. On the receiving wallet it starts again from x1 as a new holding period.

If I transfer an NFT away and later move it back, does the old multiplier return?

No. Once the NFT leaves the wallet, the previous holding streak is broken and the multiplier restarts from x1.

Do wallets with many NFTs receive full weight on every NFT?

No. To prevent a whale from taking a massively disproportionate share of Points, NFT weight decreases as wallet size increases.

How does the NFT portfolio weighting work?

NFTs 1 to 5 count at 100% weight. NFTs 6 to 20 count at 50% weight. NFTs 21 and beyond count at 25% weight.

How is a wallet with 20 NFTs weighted?

The first 5 count fully and the next 15 count at 50%. That gives an effective portfolio weight of 12.5 NFTs before holding-age multipliers are applied.

How is a wallet with 200 NFTs weighted?

The first 5 count fully, the next 15 count at 50%, and the remaining 180 count at 25%. That gives an effective portfolio weight of 57.5 NFTs before holding-age multipliers are applied.

Why use diminishing NFT weight?

It still rewards larger holders, but it prevents a wallet with 100 or 200 NFTs from automatically earning 100x or 200x more than a normal holder.

How do VOLUME Points work?

Eligible marketplace trading volume earns Points using decreasing rates as cumulative volume grows. The highest rate applies to the first part of volume, then lower rates apply to later tiers.

What are the volume Point tiers?

The first 100 ZEC earns 10 Points per 1 ZEC. From 100 to 1,000 ZEC earns 4 Points per 1 ZEC. From 1,000 to 5,000 ZEC earns 1.5 Points per 1 ZEC. Above 5,000 ZEC earns 0.5 Points per 1 ZEC.

Are volume tiers marginal?

Yes. Crossing into a new tier does not reduce the Points already earned in earlier tiers. Each slice of volume is scored at its own rate.

How many Points does 1,200 ZEC of volume earn?

100 ZEC at 10 gives 1,000 Points. The next 900 ZEC at 4 gives 3,600 Points. The next 200 ZEC at 1.5 gives 300 Points. The total is 4,900 Volume Points.

What happens if the same two wallets trade with each other repeatedly?

The first eligible trade between the pair receives 100% of normal Volume Points. The second receives 50%. The third and later trades between the same pair receive 0%.

Why are repeated trades between the same wallets discounted?

This makes simple back-and-forth farming much less effective, and rewards activity across a broader set of real market participants.

Do wallet-to-wallet NFT transfers count as trading volume?

No. Volume Points are intended for eligible marketplace trades, not ordinary transfers between wallets.

Can HOLD Points and VOLUME Points be earned at the same time?

Yes. Holding and trading are separate contribution paths, so an active holder can earn from both depending on their eligible activity.

If I buy a new NFT, do my older NFTs lose their holding multiplier?

No. Newly acquired NFTs start their own holding age while existing NFTs keep the holding age they already earned.

How does the system reduce Points farming?

The design combines diminishing portfolio weight for large holders, decreasing Volume Point tiers and repeated-wallet-pair penalties, so basic farming strategies become progressively less rewarding.
